We don’t even need any of the theme engines we have today, except for pixmap, because every look of every other engine can be effectively recreated with pixmaps. I was expecting they’ll take that concept to the next level e.g optimizing, or redesigning, a pixmap-like engine from the scratch, giving themers to wealth of animation resources, opengling and cairoizing the engine etc. That’s right, that’s exactly what the pixmap engine does today. artists and designers) is to have something like a pixmap engine, where themers can design custom made widgets in gimp or their favorite construction kit, map those widgets in a resource file (like gtkrc, oh we need a better easier syntax folks), and allow the theme engine to do it’s work. The ideal theming paradigm for real themers (i.e. Half of what dude is saying is over my head, and I make themes for GTK+ and GNOME. Man, some of these guys forget that themers aren’t necessarily hackers.
